Crystal Cotton, Dean Temple and Kat Scicluna at the St Tropez Intl Film Festival

World Premiere of Fairies!

Fairies had it’s world premiere today in Nice, France, at the St. Tropez International Film Festival. Kat and Crystal cruised the venue wearing wings and bearing wands, and by the time they were done filled the room. They also popped popcorn – real popcorn on the stove top – making Fairies the ONLY film at the festival to provide the movie staple.

We thank everyone who attended and everyone who helped us get here. To have the film so well received, to have received the generous, warm praise we did… we are moved beyond belief. This has been an incredible experience.…

Port de Nice

St. Tropez Intl Film Festival

We arrived in Nice yesterday evening. Today we’ll register for the festival, see some movies, meet some people and make the rounds for people to see our premiere tomorrow.

It’s just so darned civilized here, by the way. You get up, you stop at the cafe for your morning coffee, the patisserie for your croissant and baguette, and sit on your balcony overlooking the hills, writing posts in your website. I can do this 🙂…

I will be singing – and playing my ukulele – as part of the cabaret evening for the Mitchell ColucciMemorialFund Memorial Fund on April 11.

The Mitchell Colucci Memorial Fund was established in memory of the Dover Plains-native actor who died tragically a couple of years ago. The primary fundraising event is a cabaret/variety show, put together by Michael Berkeley. Funds go towards scholarships for students in the arts.…

Black Footnotes at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe Feb 1-14

Examiner.com review of Black Footnotes

[Director and writer Rajendra] Maharaj tells the stories of these pioneering women scientists in his documentary play through music and memory, and their courageous story hurdles from present to past; tragedy to triumph. “Black Footnotes”, at its core, is a tribute to four of the thousands of important black women whom history has forgotten,” said producer Adam Mace. “It’s an honor to tell the world about their courage, love, journey and success.” Indeed, a cast of 29 actors brings the powerful and often dramatic stories to life. There are moments of sublime beauty, and, at times, horror and shame.

New short for the 2015 SAG Awards

My friend Kat Scicluna and I produced this film with a hard-working group of NYC SAG actors to celebrate the upcoming awards this Sunday. It’s a nod to the mini-features during the show where A-Listers tell stories of how they got into the business.

Under Milk Wood, directed by Paul Bourne, starring Dean Temple

Under Milk Wood opens this Thursday

I will be playing Voice #2, Curly Bevan, Waldo and Young Waldo in the Stegasaurus Theatre Collective’s production of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood this Thursday through Saturday in the theater space at Joria Productions on 36th Street. Admission is pay what you like. This staging is being done as a radio play, with foley effects, includes a wonderfully talented range of voices, and should be a lot of fun. Boston Independent Film Review of The Convict

“Dean Temple plays the convict, and he doesn’t utter a word for the first 10 minutes or so, but he doesn’t have to; you can see it all on his face…the pain, angst, and desperation above all else. He dominates the screen, but the rest of the cast is good too. There’s a particular flashback to a parole board hearing that features subtle acting rarely seen in films like this.”

The Convict world premiere at the New Hampshire Film Festival

The Convict played to a packed house at its world premiere on Thursday, October 16 in Portsmouth, NH. Director Mark Battle and I participated in a Q&A afterwards with lots of audience participation and some excellent questions. We even got to catch the documentary feature Slingshot, about inventor Dean Kamen. I recommend it highly. A terrific, inspiring film and someone who is doing a lot of good in the world.
